Capacity For Battle – Star Citizen

As some of you may know I like to keep up to date with the development of Star Citizen. Although it has been in development for quite a while I am happy to wait as long as it takes. We’re still getting weekly updates and quarterly releases.

One of the updates we get weekly is a YouTube series called Inside Star Citizen. This series breaks down the state of a few topics each week. We get to hear from some of the developers about some of the internal requirements to get the game to the current state and see what features might be coming out soon.

This week they are looking at some really cool features. One is to give more finite control of how you operate your ship on the day-to-day, this will help a lot in battle. It seems like the better you know your ship the greater chance you will have in a one on one battle.

This brings some opportunities, but also seems like I am going to need to get a full rig to I can set a lot of key binds to make it a lot easier.

The other topic this week looked like the start of true multi-crew gameplay where they looked at co-pilots being able to utilise rockets in the heat of battle.

It used to be that you could only use missiles or your main gun and had to switch between the two. In a future patch you’re going to be able to use both mechanics at the same time. As long as you have friends to ride along with.

This also gives a good start and hopefully the underlying tech to true multi-crew gameplay.

Although a divisive topic, what are your thoughts about some of the upcoming gameplay?
